Creative Cotton Chenille
Marjorie Webb & Sandra Noah
Creative cotton chenille is constructed using four layers of fabric. Three home-spun fabrics are sewn to the bottom base fabric with diagonal stitching, then carefully cut between the stitching lines. Washing and drying to completed project allows the cut threads to burst free producing the lush soft look and feel of chenille. Adding appliques to the chenille provides a pleasant contrast in texture, color and shape. Patterns included for the vest and jacket shown in small, medium, large and extra large.
